The Commons is the hub of student life. Situated in the middle of campus, it is the place to go before, between and after classes. Hosting major social, cultural and recreational activities, The Commons fosters community among students, faculty, and staff.
The Commons Building Hours
Fall 2026 Semester (August 19 – December 9, 2026)
- Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- Friday: 7:30 a.m. – Midnight
- Saturday: 8 a.m. – Midnight
- Sunday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
UMBC and The Commons will be closed:
- 9/7/2026 in observance of Labor Day
- 12/25/2026 – 1/3/2027 for Winter Break
Departments may be providing services remotely. Please visit departmental sites for detailed information.
Additional Service Hours
Campus Information Center (CIC) Desk (during the regular semester)
